Comprehensive Makeover

Chevy Chase, Maryland

Work includes transformative additions and renovations to a traditional center hall colonial house. The foyer and central stair of the existing house are relocated to one side allowing living, dining, and entertainment areas to unfold from the new entrance hall. Core areas including a bath and remnants of masonry from the original house define individual spaces which stretch out enfilade along the front of the house. Informal living spaces are placed to the rear with direct access to the patio and yard. Bedrooms and a home office are located above. The exterior is clad in Atlantic White Cedar shingles and painted wood trim.
