Erie, Pennsylvania
The new house is focused inward around an open courtyard which provides natural light and curated views. The house is bilaterally zoned into public and private areas. One story living, dining, and kitchen spaces are grouped around the north and east side of the court. A two-story bedroom wing and study are placed to the west. Interior detailing is crisp and natural materials and earth tone colors establish a dialogue between the house and the heavily wooded site. The kitchen is detailed with a butcher block counter/backsplash and painted metal cabinets. A sculpted masonry fireplace separates living and dining areas.
